Wellness
The Resource Center proudly offers its STARS Employee Wellness Program. Through STARS, every employee has access to a personal Health Coach who can support you in identifying and achieving your personal wellness goals. There also are fun group activities that build camaraderie. STARS is so successful that The Resource Center is annually recognized as not only one of the healthiest employers in Western New York, but also in the entire United States.
Continuing Professional Education
Our employees have the opportunity to invest in themselves and their career through continued professional education. This can take the form of pursuing advanced educational degrees or becoming nationally accredited as a Direct Support Professional. Our Tuition Assistance Program can help cover the costs of your continuing education.
New Employee Orientation and Learning
We provide comprehensive orientation for new staff so they can acquire an understanding of The Resource Center and our mission. New employees develop an appreciation for people with disabilities, and those who will be directly supporting people with disabilities receive training on their job duties and expectations so they can feel comfortable from the outset in their new roles.
Skill Acquisition and Advanced Learning
The Resource Center supports staff in developing their skills and becoming more effective employees through a variety of training opportunities.
External Collaborations/Opportunities for Networking
The Resource Center partners with a number of local organizations, and we are a member of several state-wide and national associations. As a result, our employees have the opportunity to become involved with these partner agencies and network with other professionals in their field. Employees also are encouraged to give back to the community by volunteering with local non-profit organizations.
Staff Assistance
The Resource Center is committed to supporting our staff to be successful at their jobs and in their personal lives. We partner with an external company to operate our Employee Assistance Program that can provide advice and information on issues such as counseling, financial challenges and legal issues. Additionally, The Resource Center operates a Staff Assistance Program to support employees with issues affecting their personal and professional lives – housing, food, transportation, child care, personal relationship, etc. You are not alone!
Family Oriented
We recognize that our employees have lives outside of the workplace, and we want our staff to maintain a healthy work/life balance. We provide employees with 11 paid holidays each year, plus a generous Paid Time Off package. This gives our employees lots of time off work to be with family and friends.
