Primary Care Reading Session

Step Up for Autism
In this heartwarming interview, Dory Matwijkow talks about her son Austin, who is on the autism spectrum and lives in one of our homes. Dory is a huge supporter of our annual Step Up for Autism walk. When we couldn’t hold the event last year due to the pandemic, Dory organized her own autism awareness walk and donated the proceeds to us. Dory also is a professional pastry chef, and throughout the year she bakes and sells delicious treats under the name Austin’s Angels and using the hashtag #bakingforautism, and she donates the proceeds to our Step Up for Autism event. YMCA Camp Onyahsa

Every year, Jon and his camp counselors collaborate with our staff to provide a camp program for dozens of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Camp Onyahsa received our 2020 Community Partnership Award for developing a way to safely hold camp during the pandemic, enabling self-advocates at The Resource Center to continue to enjoy the camp experience.
