    The Resource Center has been providing services to persons with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area since 1958. From our humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities. The Resource Center is the largest non-governmental employer in Chautauqua County with a total of 1,200 employees on its payroll.


    The mission of The Resource Center is to support individuals with disabilities and other challenges in achieving maximum independence, contributing to their community, experiencing lifelong growth, and enjoying quality of life.

    Career Options at The Resource Center

    Career as a DSP (Direct Support Professional)

    Have you considered a career as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)?  A DSP helps people with developmental disabilities lead richer lives.  The work is challenging and diverse.  DSPs assist individuals with all of their personal care needs and care plans, help people participate in recreational programs that strengthen their life skills, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment.  Helping individuals live more independently is critical to our vision of community inclusion. The Resource Center now has a DSP Career Ladder and Leadership Career Path with an in-house Management Training Program.  Assistance is provided with the National Association of Direct Support Professional certification that can add up to $2.40 per hour to wages upon program completion. If you are a career-minded person with a good work history, we want to hear from you!

    Are you a College Student?

    The Resource Center offers full- and part-time positions with flexible hours and the ability to earn while you learn. You can even come home for college for the Summer and on breaks and work for us!  TRC is a great place to explore a career in the healthcare field and can give you valuable experience in human services.

    Are you retired and looking for a second career?

    Looking to supplement your fixed retirement income? Looking for a second career?  The Resource Center offers full- and part-time positions with flexible hours and the ability to truly make a difference. No experience is necessary and TRC offers paid training.

    Do you live in Pennsylvania and want to make more money?

    Do you want to earn a higher wage? The Resource Center offers a wide variety of full- and part-time positions in a healthcare setting with wages for entry level positions starting at $12.50 per hour.

    Are you a stay at home parent or do you need part-time work?

    Do you want to supplement your income? The Resource Center offers full- and part-time positions with flexible hours that allow you to make a difference while still taking care of your own family. No experience is necessary and TRC offers paid training.

    Are you a Nurse or recent graduate of a Nursing program?

    The Resource Center offers full-time, part-time and per diem LPN and RN nursing positions with flexible hours for experienced nurses and recent nursing program graduates.
