As part of our monthling observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, today we spotlight Cassie Jimerson-Klemens!

Cassie recently marked five years as an employee with Mazza Chautauqua Cellars Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing in Westfield, where she is a valued member of the team. Congratulations, Cassie!

National Disability Employment Awareness Month, or NDEAM, is a time to highlight the skills and contributions people with disabilities add to workplaces, communities and the economy.

The Resource Center has a number of programs and services to support people with disabilities and other challenges in finding and maintaining meaningful employment. As part of our observance of NDEAM, we’re celebrating people who this year have reached milestone years of employment.

To learn more about the employment supports TRC offers, visit https://resourcecenter.org/services/employment or phone 716-483-2344.

This week our “Employee Spotlight” shines on Penni

This week our “Employee Spotlight” shines on Pennifer McCartney, the Employee of the Month in our Employment and Community-Based Services.

Penny was recognized for the quality of supports she provides to people in our Community Habilitation Program. She was nominated by Lynn Grundstrom, Director of @fluvanna_library. Lynn has been the Library Director for 11 years, and in that time she has witnessed firsthand the ways in which Penny encourages independence while being attentive to each person’s needs.

“She allows individuals the opportunity to make their own choices, whether that means letting people select their own craft or art project or giving them time to choose the books they want to read,” Lynn said. “At the same time, Penny is always nearby to provide guidance, reassurance and assistance whenever needed.”

Penny is pictured at left receiving her award from Ashley Russell, Community Services Manager. Congratulations, Penny, and thanks for providing excellent supports to the people in Community Hab!
