Mission Statement for The Resource Center’s Day Services

The mission of The Resource Center’s Day Services is to support people with developmental disabilities in living a happy and healthy life by providing opportunities to learn and maintain skills; to participate and develop relationships in the community; and to identify and attain their valued outcomes.

Services Provided

The Day Services Department of The Resource Center is comprised of Day Habilitation Programs at five locations in Chautauqua County. Day Habilitation is a compilation of supports and services, outlined in a Day Habilitation Plan, to help individuals develop and attain life goals that they have identified as meaningful and desirable to them. Staff support is provided to assist individuals with daily life activities, skill development, and in achieving satisfying and rewarding connections and relationships
within their communities.

Admission Criteria/Eligibility Requirements

An individual can be admitted to the Day Habilitation program if he/she is age eighteen or over and has a developmental disability with a diagnosis of intellectual/developmental disability, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or neurological impairment, and possesses a deficit in adaptive behavior. Each individual must also have the capacity to participate in planned activities at a site other than his/her residence. Only individuals whose functional, developmental, and nursing needs can be met by the program will be admitted.
