The Resource Center offers Community Habilitation to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live independently in the community.  The Community Habilitation service is designed to promote and enhance independent living skills.

The Resource Center Community Habilitation staff can assist with home care items such as:  menu planning, grocery shopping, personal finances, daily living skills, home maintenance, community exploration, and volunteering.  The goal of Community Habilitation is to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to become integrated into their community.

To be eligible for The Resource Center Community Habilitation service, an individual must be developmentally disabled, as determined by the New York State Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

All staff are trained to follow OPWDD (Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities) guidelines for community habilitation.  All of staff are well trained, compassionate people. They provide support and assistance to enable individuals to attain their personal goals and desires within the Community Habilitation plan.

Community Habilitation services vary depending on the needs of the individual to maintain maximum independence.
