The Resource Center has been providing services to persons with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area since 1958. From our humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities.
The Resource Center is the largest non-governmental employer in Chautauqua County with a total of 1,300 employees on its payroll.
The mission of The Resource Center is to support individuals with disabilities and other challenges in achieving maximum independence, contributing to their community, experiencing lifelong growth, and enjoying quality of life.

Career as a DSP (Direct Support Professional)
Have you considered a career as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)? A DSP helps people with developmental disabilities lead richer lives. The work is challenging and diverse. DSPs assist individuals with all of their personal care needs and care plans, help people participate in recreational programs that strengthen their life skills, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment. Helping individuals live more independently is critical to our vision of community inclusion.
The Resource Center now has a DSP Career Ladder and Leadership Career Path with an in-house Management Training Program. Assistance is provided with the National Association of Direct Support Professional certification that can add up to $2.40 per hour to wages upon program completion.

The Resource Center offers full-time, part-time and per diem LPN and RN nursing positions with flexible hours for experienced nurses and recent nursing program graduates.
