Assembly

You will put together products piece by piece such as Macy’s jewelry boxes or packages and equipment for soldiers for the Department of Defense. There is a wide variety of work available but either way this job allows hands on work, putting together work one step at a time, at your own speed, until we get things done. There are orders placed with quantity and time requirements. Most of this work is done by hand, and we will work as a team to meet these goals and deadlines. These products are also made available through local companies that ask for our help in making their business successful. This position pays minimum wage for the work you do. If you are not able to work full time, we will pay for the percentage of time you do work. All training is on the job, and is paid as well.

My name is Cynthia Miller but most people call me Cindy and that’s fine with me. Something I like to tell everyone who asks me is that when it comes to work, I love to stay busy! Each weekday I awake at 5am. I know that is early in the morning but I love waking early because it means I will soon be working. My work begins each day at 6am with TRC’s Environmental Services program.

I am responsible for cleaning all the women’s bathrooms in the Allied building by 8am. That’s five bathrooms, but I get it done in good time!

Cindy resides at the Randall IRA in Jamestown, NY.
Cynthia Miller works for both the Environmental and Manufacturing Work Centers.

After my work with Environmental Services I generally work on the Ground Rod Operation on Assembly 3. In addition to this every Monday I work in the J&G cafeteria from 11:30am to 12:30pm. I also clean a church every Tuesday from 8:30am to 11:30am. After doing my special jobs on Monday and Tuesday I usually return to the Ground Rod Operation on Assembly 3. I also had the special opportunity to do individual seal packing for just over a month this year with the Affirmative Business government contract work. My hard work with the Affirmative Business led to my being nominated for the William Usdane Award through the AbilityOne program. If I win an award that will be very exciting to me but even if I don’t win I will keep working hard as I have always liked to do!
