Lawmakers attempt to restore funding for disability services
Although New York State adopted a 2013-14 budget that cuts $90 million in funding for services to people with developmental disabilities, some lawmakers are working to restore the money. Mike Burkey, KFC/Taco Bell receive 2012 employment awards
Michael Burkey and the KFC/Taco Bell in Lakewood have been honored under the “Works for Me” program operated by the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities. Mike, who has worked at the restaurant since April 2004, received a Certificate of Recognition from OPWDD “in honor of your dedication, hard work and commitment to New York State’s workforce.” OPWDD honored KFC/Taco Bell “in recognition of your commitment to workforce diversity and inclusion.”
